Japan-Charts: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe überholt Super Smash Bros. Ultimate als zweitmeistverkauftes Nintendo Switch-Spiel

Während im Rest der Welt Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (ca. 50 Millionen weltweit verkaufte Einheiten) im direkten Vergleich mit Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (ca. 30 Millionen) ganz klar die Nase vorne hat, sah dies in Nintendos Heimatland bis zuletzt anders aus: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate kann die größten Erfolge in Japan feiern und war dort lange Zeit auch das meistverkaufte Nintendo Switch-Spiel (digitale Verkäufe nicht einberechnet), ehe es 2020 von Animal Crossing: New Horizons abgelöst wurde. In den letzten Monaten holte der Mario-Funracer allerdings immer mehr auf und bis zum Ende der letzten Woche wurden in Japan insgesamt 5,101 Millionen Mario Kart 8 Deluxe-Exemplare verkauft – erstmals (knapp tausend Stück) mehr als Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (5,100 Millionen). Unangefochten auf Platz 1 bleibt in Japan weiterhin Animal Crossing: New Horizons (7,416 Millionen) – weltweit rangiert das Spiel übrigens auf Platz 2 mit mehr als 40 Millionen verkauften Exemplaren zwischen Mario Kart und Smash Bros. Ultimate.
